Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-05-14T17:00Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-05-14T17:00:00-CME-001 (version 2)
Source Location: S19W96
Active Region Number: 13664
Note Keyword:
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
OVR: Event partially overlaps with another CME
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
PEA: Post eruption arcade
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
EUVW: EUV Wave
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Bright CME from behind the west limb, the first in a series of two closely following CMEs. Its source is the occulted X8.7 flare from AR 3664, just over the limb. Coronal signatures include a massive EUV wave and field line movement/restructuring of magnetic field behind the limb across wide range of latitudes (mass seen departing) beginning ~2024-05-14T16:49Z, field line movement seen across every wavelength. Very fast opening of the field lines likely associated with this CME is best seen in AIA 335 starting at 16:50Z.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type
